ANDAMERA Begins a New Chapter With "Moïta"

ANDAMERA is an electronic artist based in Ibiza, Spain. Introduced to club culture and to vinyl early, he has spent years building a sound that moves between deep tech, underground house, and organic melodic techno — and he is only now, deliberately, putting his name to a debut release.

That release is Moïta, and it arrives after a long stretch spent almost entirely in the studio. We sat down with him to talk about what changed.

An instinctive approach to the booth

ANDAMERA does not plan sets. He shapes them in real time, reading the energy of the room and the particular character of the venue, and lets the record after next stay undecided until the one playing is nearly out. It is a way of working that rewards a deep, well-known crate and punishes autopilot — and it is the throughline connecting his DJing to the way he produces.

Why vinyl still matters to him

The vinyl connection is not nostalgia and he is careful to say so. It is a constraint that changes how he selects: a finite bag forces commitment, and commitment forces a set to have an argument rather than a playlist. In conversation he keeps returning to that idea — that limitation is what produces identity.

Ibiza, on and off season

Living on the island means seeing both versions of it: the summer machine that the rest of the world flies in for, and the long quiet months afterwards when the studios stay busy and nobody is watching. He credits the second one for the record.
