BrokinPaper Builds Momentum with "Antidote Remix"

BrokinPaper has spent the last stretch turning a steady release schedule into genuine momentum, and the "Antidote Remix" is the clearest statement of where that has landed him.

We caught up with him about the remix, the album behind it, and the decision to keep releasing at a pace most producers would find uncomfortable.

On the remix

The brief was to keep the original's hook recognisable while rebuilding everything underneath it for a much bigger room. He describes the process as subtractive — finding what the original was actually about and removing whatever was not that.

On the album

The record it belongs to has been in progress considerably longer than the release schedule around it suggests, and he is candid that the remixes and singles have partly been a way of staying visible while the long-form work took its time.

On pace

His view is that consistency compounds in a way that perfectionism does not — a position that is easy to state and difficult to sustain, and which the last twelve months appear to support.
